Meet Mark Peggie, the founder of AquariumShrimpKeeping.com and a passionate aquarist with decades of experience in the field. Mark was born in Scotland in the 1970s and fell in love with the aquarium hobby at an early age. He got his first terrapins when he was just 8 years old and built his first fish tank when he was 12.
Over the years, Mark’s love for aquariums grew, and he began to explore different types of fish and other aquatic creatures. He kept everything from piranhas to guppies and even built a 3,000-gallon koi pond that won Koi Magazine’s Pond of the Year award.
In the late 90s, Mark moved to Norway for work and discovered his love for shrimp keeping. He started with a small tank and was immediately hooked when he saw crystal red shrimp for the first time. This led him to start a YouTube channel called Marks Shrimp Tanks, which now has over 60,000 subscribers.
Mark started the channel as a way to give himself a purpose and something to do after becoming disabled due to severe back problems. His passion for shrimp keeping and desire to help others led him to start a Facebook group called Aquarium Shrimp Keeping, which now has over 40,000 members and continues to grow.
To provide even more value to the shrimp keeping community, Mark created AquariumShrimpKeeping.com, a blog that features original, informative content about all aspects of shrimp keeping. Mark’s decades of experience and expertise in the field make him a trusted source of information for shrimp enthusiasts worldwide.
Through his YouTube channel, Facebook group, and blog, Mark is dedicated to helping others overcome the challenges of shrimp keeping and achieve success in this rewarding hobby.
Happy Shrimp Keeping!
